The "Coast Railway" began operating in 1890. It was first steam-powered and then electric in 1911. Affected by the bombardments, the plant was put back into service in January 1946. The city centre station was renovated in 1963 in the style of the Perret reconstruction. The maximum inclination of the ramp is 41%. Not to be missed for an original transport between the lower town and the plateau, from the Thiers car park to rue Félix-Faure - almost in front of the Claude Monet High School.
