THE SEMAPHORE AND THE PORT

A place where you can follow the movements of all the boats in Le Havre.
The Semaphore reaches 45 m and overlooks the Musée museum. At the end of the jetty, superb views of the port entrance with the first planes. From here, you can follow the movements of all boats. The walk can continue by the nearby marina, or on the other side by returning to Saint-François, and by taking the roundabout of the Autonomous harbour to be on Lucien Corbeaux Avenue. Along the docks, behind the still impressive containers, the cruise liners dock. Further afield, we find ourselves at the maritime station, which was bustling with people when ships were at their peak during the transatlantic era. Continue along the road to the François I lock. You can explore further into the mysterious port arteries, always being careful not to venture where signs forbid - such as private land - and not to hinder the work of port workers. However beautiful or impressive, the port area is primarily a work area.
