THE HOSPITAL'S SURGICAL SHELTER
This surgical shelter at Le Havre Hospital is a place of remembrance that once held up to 120 people.
Great work of the Memory and Heritage Association, to restore first, and open to the visit afterwards, this surgical shelter, the only one that can still receive visitors in Le Havre, in the Enceinte hospital. The gallery was dug in 1942 with ten alveoli to receive the injured, store the equipment and operate urgently. A place of memory that, in its time, could receive up to 120 people. Today, the surgical shelter is open only on a few dates in the year, especially during the Heritage Days. Thanks to the volunteer members of the association, you will be able to visit the central telephone of the German commander of Le Havre fortress, located rue Gabriel-Monod, and also restored.
