The Escalier Roulant is a 170m-long link between the upper and lower towns of Le Havre.
In 1927, it opened a 170 m long rolling staircase, the most important in Europe at the time, to reconnect the high city and lower city. The steps allowed for the installation of bicycles and carriages. The escalator no longer works today but is still visible.
