Tailpipes are the sailors who fished without a net, just with a rope and hooks. And this district, between the sea and cliffs, took shape from the 18th century. A leaflet is available at the tourist office to find the twenty or so marine motifs that decorate these typical houses. The site lost some of its charm after the last war: part of it was razed to the ground for the construction of the Atlantic Wall by the Third Reich.
