This festival, unique in Normandy, takes you back in time to the Gallo-Roman era.
Established in 2015, this Gallo-Roman festival will plunge you back into history. From June 21 to 23, 2024, you’ll relive the heyday of the ancient capital of the Caletes, Juliobona, the former name of present-day Lillebonne. Gladiator fights, a reconstructed Gallo-Roman training camp, chariot races, performances in the Roman theatre, readings and tastings of period cuisine, ancient crafts... The whole town will be decked out in 1st-century colours. Highly anticipated by enthusiasts, the Juliobonales are a great family outing.

The Juliobonales Gallo-Roman festival is an event not to be missed in Lillebonne. Organized by the town, in partnership with the Seine-Maritime department, it invites you on an immersive journey into the past of the ancient city of Juliobona. You'll get an up-close look at the daily life of a Gallo-Roman citizen, a legionnaire or a diehard Gallic fighter. This cultural event also features a variety of free activities, including gladiatorial combat, cavalry and archery demonstrations. There's also a presentation of Roman military maneuvers and war machines. The program also includes workshops on cooking, crafts and beauty. You'll discover the habits and customs of Gaul in Roman times. Likewise, the grand theater, a remarkable vestige of Lillebonne's rich past, will host unforgettable shows during the Juliobonales. You'll also be invited to a banquet almost as gargantuan as that of the wealthy Romans. It's the perfect way to enjoy an authentic cultural experience!
