By September, the time of a weekend, the city celebrates its local cheese, the Neufchâtel. This AOP cheese made from cow’s milk, with a flowered crust and an unspoiled paste, is recognizable by its heart shape. On this occasion, the brotherhood of producers, retailers, and traders meet to induct new members and promote cheese from the country of Bray.
The whole rurality is also celebrated. Concerts, demonstrations, cheeses and farm products, producer competitions, and other entertainment of all kinds are usually organized in the centre: at the Halle aux Fromages, places Notre Dame and La Libération, Grande Rue or even at the Musée Mathon-Durand.
