SAINT MADELEINE CHURCH
Church designed in the style of an ancient basilica, which was part of the complex formerly called Hôtel-Dieu.
Built between 1758 and 1780, this church was designed in an ancient basilica style, according to the taste of religious architecture of the second half of the 18th century. The sculptures like the high relief of Charité, carved in 1777, set above the main gate, and the two transept bas-reliefs symbolising Faith and Hope dating from 1779 are the work of the Rouen sculptor Marin-Nicolas Jadoulle (1736-1805). This church was part of the whole formerly known as Hôtel-Dieu. Listed as a historical monument in 1910, it now accommodates part of the services of the prefecture.
