ST. SEVER'S CHURCH
Church located on the left bank of the city and inaugurated in 1860 by Charles Verdrel.
Located on the left bank of the city, this church escaped not only bombardments but also, when the Germans arrived in June 1940, the fire that devastated the left bank. Inaugurated in 1860 by Charles Verdrel (1809-1868), then mayor of Rouen, its brick construction is explained by a cost-saving measure. In fact, four churches have been successively built. Two were simultaneously there in 1860, the current one made of brick and the previous one made of stone, the latter had only been demolished in the year of the inauguration of the church that can be seen today.
