The church of Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc, built in 1979, features beautiful stained glass windows

Sainte-Jeanne-d’Arc was built in 1979. Its architect, Louis Arretche, wanted to give the building the shape of an overturned boat. He revived the principles of traditional shipbuilding by creating an exposed wooden structure above the nave. As the church is below the nave, the view is impressive, both from the narthex (raised part) and from the fish-shaped exterior openings. Very beautiful stained glass windows to be seen from the inside.

Cette église est une église contemporaine (1979). Son toit est en forme de coque de navire renversée . Ses vitraux constituent une étape incontournable d'une visite de la ville de Rouen. Elle est située en centre ville sur la place du grand marché.
