ROMAN PRIDE
Monument built in the middle of the century to discover architectural features absolutely unique to Rouen
Opposite the Halle aux Toiles, in the heart of Rouen, stands this monument built in the mid-16th century. Probably built by Jean Goujeon, the Fierté Saint-Romain is a marvellous example of the vestiges of the Rouen Renaissance. Its unique architectural features include Corinthian columns and superb loggias. The building, once whitewashed for protection, has since been whitewashed to reveal every last detail. A listed monument not to be missed!
