Museum in Rouen, showcasing Rouen's ceramics production and tracing the history of European ceramics.
Rouen occupied a place of honour in earthenware production from the first half of the 18th century to the end of the 19th century, and the Saint-Sever workshops had their moment of glory with floral decorations, chinoiseries and then the rocaille style. The Musée de la Céramique pays tribute to this craft, which unfortunately did not survive industrialisation. You can discover Rouen’s production from its beginnings (16th century) to its greatest success (18th century), and trace the entire history of European ceramics.
