The house where playwright Pierre Corneille was born, in the heart of Rouen, where he wrote Le Cid.

The birthplace of the playwright Pierre Corneille, which has been awarded the "Maisons des Illustres" label, is located in the heart of the old city. It is an obligatory detour for theatre lovers since it is here that the famous author wrote Le Cid, in his faithfully reconstructed office. It is also a way to discover what the Old Market Square was once like. It is interesting to learn that little Pierre played on a funnel-shaped square, at the foot of the pillory.
