OLD MARKET SQUARE
Home to a covered market and the church of Sainte-Jeanne-d’Arc, this square is one of Rouen’s vibrant hearts, and a must-see address.
This square, made famous by its history, is one of the city’s beating hearts, one of the places to be if you don’t want to miss a thing. In addition to a small covered market, it’s home to one of Rouen’s best-known monuments: the church of Sainte-Jeanne-d’Arc, which stands beside the site of the famous pyre that ended La Pucelle’s life. The café terraces are particularly inviting for a drink, as are the restaurants (seafood, Norman or contemporary). It’s a great place to capture the soul of the city.
