THE LEANING HOUSE
One of the most famous architectural curiosities in downtown Rouen, once home to a bed & breakfast.
This is one of the most famous architectural sights in downtown Rouen. The so-called "leaning house" is located at 4, Place Barthélémy. This beautiful half-timbered house, typical of Norman architecture, has been leaning since the 19th century but has remained stable ever since. During this period, it was cleared of adjoining houses for redevelopment. For ten years, the house was used as a bed & breakfast, with an interior that is absolutely not leaning! Exterior visit only.
