LACROIX ISLAND BOARDWALK
Take a stroll to explore Lacroix Island and its Pont Corneille, nautical centre and Saint-Paul Church.
The foot of the Seine Island, Lacroix Island, was in the 19th century the head of the river port. It was also, and above all, a festive place with guinguettes. Today, its green banks are the ideal place to stay and relax on summer days. Located just a few steps from the city centre, this green oasis is ideal for an afternoon with family or friends. No need to take the car, this loop is done on foot or by bike to enjoy the beautiful days! Start your walk under Corneille Bridge at the foot of the nautical centre and take Jacques-Chastellain Avenue from where you can admire St. Paul’s Church and Sainte-Catherine Hill. Continue towards the tip of the island, at the east end, with a great green lawn for picnics and games. It is also a good perspective on the Basilica of Bonsecours and the Jeanne-d’Arc monument. Take your time to reach the downstream gardens before closing the loop under Crow Bridge.
