ROEBUCK WALK
A romantic stroll along the banks of the River Robec, Rouen's most rural river, takes in a number of historic buildings.
This is undoubtedly the most rural of Rouen's walks! What's it all about? This romantic stroll takes you along the banks of the River Robec, under the drooping branches of weeping willows, through lush, intimate alleys. Start by leaving your car at rue de l'Abreuvoir, and walk or cycle down rue des Petites-Eaux. Then head upstream along the Robec. This is lined with historic buildings that bear witness to the town's industrial past, starting with the former Auvray dye works and the Pannevert bread oven. Walk along the Chartreuse plain and discover the bread oven and one of the many mills on the site, the Pannevert mill. After the moulin Saint-Gilles, take the chemin du garde-rivière to the moulin Marc d'Argent. Then retrace your steps along the banks of the Aubette to the Lyons-la-Forêt road. Opposite the Chartreuse de la Rose, take the path below the Rocade to discover a third river, the Clairette.
