Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray is the first of the Maisons des Forêts to have been opened in the urban area. It is located on the edge of the Madrillet departmental forest (2,700 hectares) and has a resource centre, a multimedia room, and an observation lookout. Everything is designed in a fun and educational way to "educate the environment" in order to make everyone aware of the beauties of nature and to allow everyone to get to know them better. Remember to book in advance to participate, during the week or at weekends, in commented walks or bike rides, on different themes (recognition of forest species, bird songs, for example).
