EXTINGUISHED CASTLE
This splendid Renaissance-style castle is located on the right bank of the Seine, between the Brotonne and Tancarville bridges.
Château d'Ételan is an architectural marvel, perched atop a cliff overlooking the Seine. Dating from the late 15th century, it is the first Renaissance-style château built in France, with a magnificent chapel comparable to those on the Loire. Listed as a Monument Historique, it has welcomed many kings and queens, as well as personalities such as Voltaire and Eiffel. Surrounded by a verdant park with century-old trees, the château offers a breathtaking view over the meadows and the river. It's a very interesting way to discover a piece of French history.
