VILLAGE MANOR
A peaceful and elegant stroll, bathed in the light of the Seine valley
Closely associated with the Villers manor house, the park will attract you by its charm and beauty. It is composed of 3 gardens, the Levant Garden, the Secret Garden and the Green Theater. The first one, well integrated in its classical environment, formed of lime tree quincunxes, with a rose garden located to the east. You will access the second by a hidden passage that leads to the steps of a small garden with an intimate atmosphere, hidden in the perennials and tall grasses. Finally, the Théâtre de Verdure faces the manor house with its huge screen of yews pruned into gendarme hats in which doors are pierced. Its wide stone staircase escorted by 18th century fire pots will lead you to the white flowerbeds.
Adjacent to the manor house, you will also discover a charming 16th century chapel which is worth a visit with its superb painted ceiling, its tapestries hidden behind the altar during the revolution and rediscovered 100 years later, its 4 sumptuous stained glass windows and the rose window, works of the famous Duhamel-Marette d'Évreux workshop. A small chalet set back at the end of the park and opening onto a pond now hosts temporary exhibitions.
