NOTRE-DAME-DU-BON-PORT CHAPEL
Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Port Chapel, with models of ships and impressive stained glass windows, is a must-see.
This chapel doesn’t look good from the outside. You have to push open the door to discover the impressive stained glass windows by André-Louis Pierre, decorator, painter, glassmaker and mosaicist. The original 17th-century building was destroyed during the Second World War. The present one was built in 1963 based on the plans of Raymond Jules Lopez, recalling the shape of an overturned ship. At the entrance, ex-votos honour missing sailors. Further on, don’t miss the model ships.
