Visit to a monument built on the cliff below Saint-Valéry-en-Caux.
Ah, the crazy era of the infancy of aviation. Many of those who burned their wings… which was not the case of Costes and Bellonte. These two aviators were the first to fly from Paris to New York. An achievement as we are in 1930. To celebrate the event, this monument was erected on the downstream cliff of Saint-Valéry-en-Caux, the city being the last in France to be flown by the two pilots before they crossed the Atlantic.
