An imposing building housing a museum where you can discover the city's maritime history.
Built in 1540 by shipowner Guillaume Ladiré, this magnificent building illustrates the successful settlement of Normans in Brazil, who brought back their fortunes and stories. Its superbly preserved facade features exotic carved scenes depicting life on the other side of the Atlantic. Having been visited by Henri II and then Henri IV, the house took the latter's name, dedicating the most beautiful house in the village to him. Now a cultural center, the house houses permanent and temporary collections on local history.
