NOTRE-DAME-DES-FLOTS CHAPEL
Notre-Dame-des-Flots Chapel in Sainte-Adresse, in colourful neo-Gothic style with high altar, comprising nave and 2 transepts
This pretty chapel dates back to 1859, and is part of a tradition in which sailors place their fate under the benevolent gaze of the Virgin Mary. Abbé Duval-Pirou was responsible for the chapel's construction, but its final completion dates from 1861. The chapel comprises a nave and two transepts, in a colorful neo-Gothic style. The feast of the Assumption, on August 15, is an occasion for pilgrimage. The view over the Seine estuary is magnificent.
