If Gravenchon is today the pétrochimie realm, archaeologists have shown that much more classical lords once dominated places. On this archaeological site, the remains of a wooden castle from the beginning of the th century and a fortified enclosure of a domain belonging to the Counts of Evreux were uncovered. The time seems to have stopped here, and present and Middle Ages blend in this exceptional site. Reconstructions also allow to admire the walls exhumed from the castle chapel and the remains of the exterior walls of the fortress.
