CONCOURS « ARPAJON SAVEURS »

Since 2012, the city of Arpajon (Essonne) is organising the «Arpajon Flavours» competition, reserved for amateurs, with the help of delegated company Codecom at the Beans fair during which the competition takes place under the market square. Three days of celebration, animation and performance in downtown: The Arpajon Beans Fair attracts 100 000 to 150 000 visitors every year. A wide-ranging commercial and cultural event, the Fair has been set in the festive schedule of the Essonne Department.

Registration: professionals are not accepted, but students of cooking schools are. Registrations are open from June until September 1 ^{st, 2013. The number of candidates is set at a maximum of 16, but the number may be reduced. Events: The contest is organized in 2 or 3 stages depending on the number of candidates. The 2013 competition rules will be set at the beginning of the year. The qualification tests will take place on 1 hour 30, each candidate will have to make a dish on a theme imposed by the jury (which will not be limited to local cuisine, since in 2012 the subject was the kitchen of the Basque Country) with ingredients imposed as well. At the end of the Fair, which will take place for three days, from 20 to 22 September 2013, both candidates will have to make an entrance and a dish. The dishes to be made will be communicated to the candidates 48 hours before the test

The jury: it will be composed of up to 4 people, serving as one of the catering professionals, journalists and local personalities. The Board will note on: the presentation (aesthetic impression, balance), taste (flavours, seasoning), creativity and originality relative to the original recipe.

Price: The winner will receive a prize of € 1 000. Other candidates will receive various surprise lots from the demonstration partners.
