THE COUNTRY HOUSE OF EUGÈNE DELACROIX
Second home of Delacroix, who brought back many drawings from his excursions in the Sénart forest.
If you appreciate Delacroix, don't miss to take a look at his secondary residence, close to that of his friend Alphonse Daudet. The artist lived there from 1844 until the end of his life. In poor health, he came to enjoy the fresh air of Champrosay, a hamlet near the Sénart forest. Seduced by nature, Delacroix brought back many drawings from his excursions in the Sénart forest. His diary of 1854 contains many passages expressing his attachment to nature.
