OUŸE ABBEY
The Tourist Office of Dourdan has a detailed map of a walking circuit in a loop to discover the Abbey of Ouÿe
The Ouÿe Abbey, a favorite of hikers, is nestled in the heart of the forest of the same name. According to the legend, its name comes from the fact that a prince lost in the forest was heard by his companions after having invoked the Sky. He erected a first sanctuary in recognition of this. The current abbey was founded in 1163 by Louis VII. The Dourdan tourist office offers a detailed map of an 8 km walking tour that allows you to get to Notre-Dame de l'Ouÿe by a loop from the city center. You will get there through the woods where game abounds.
