MAISON DE JEAN COCTEAU
The house of Jean Cocteau, in Milly-la-Forêt, is a memorable place to visit.
A multi-talented artist, Jean Cocteau took refuge in Milly-la-Forêt in 1947, fleeing the hustle and bustle of Paris. In this former outbuilding of the Château de la Bonde, the poet was able to dream and create until his death. Filled with memories, the premises are now open to the public, with some of the house's preserved rooms, as well as interesting temporary exhibitions, shows and seasonal events. Since 2024, Jean Marais' former bedroom has also been a tribute to Cocteau's companion. The tour of the house is guided by a mediator who will immerse you in the poet's world.
