THE CYCLOP
A monumental and impressive work by Swiss sculptor Jean Tinguely, 23 m high and made of 300 tonnes of scrap metal.
Standing in the heart of the forest like an unusual totem, the Cyclop is a monumental and impressive work by Swiss sculptor Jean Tinguely. This "mechanical monster" is 23 m high and 300 tons of scrap metal. It was built over a period of 25 years. On the outside, anthropomorphic elements can be seen: a giant's ear, a moving eye, embedded like a diamond in the middle of the forehead. From the mouth, water gushes out onto a tongue. The visit of the interior reveals an ingenious and sophisticated machinery.
