PALACE MUSEUM OF HUREPOIX
Museum allowing you to discover different trades of the past, such as the milliner and her beautiful hats, the saddler, the carpenter
How did people live in the Hurepoix region, where Palaiseau is located, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries? This is what this museum, launched in 1991 at the instigation of members of the Palaiseau Historical Society, tells you. You will discover different trades of the past, such as the milliner and her pretty hats, the saddler, the carpenter or the watchmaker. We also discover beautiful earthenware from Creil and Montereau, the reconstitution of a bourgeois living room or a beautiful collection of old posters. Other rooms present models showing the old districts of Palaiseau and various memories of the last wars. A nice way to transmit the habits and customs of the past to the younger generations. However, be careful to find out about the opening hours; if necessary, don't hesitate to call ahead.
