MEMORIAL-FLIGHT
Created in 1988, the Memorial-Flight Association maintains, as its name indicates, the memory… The memory of the history of aviation. In this context, it contributes to the preservation and enrichment of French aeronautical Heritage. To this end, the Association has a useful and valuable collaboration with the Air and Space Museum: In particular, the museum makes available to the association a workshop where Memorial-Flight is concerned with restoring and rebuilding equipment (a workshop now certified as maintenance unit by the Directorate general of Civil Aviation and since 1999). It goes without saying that the most significant historical period in terms of aviation has a great place within the association: World War I. In order to preserve and maintain the historical heritage of the aeronautics, Memorial-Flight collects information of various plans, parts and documentations. Their sources? The French and foreign museums (Memorial-Flight is a member of the British Preservation Council and signed a convention with the Berlin Museum in May 1994) as well as personal collections of individuals. You can find the restored aircraft by the association on the airfield of Cerny/La Ferté Ops!
