ST. HONEST'S CHURCH
This church sits atop a charming pedestrian square in the heart of Yerres
A Christian martyr from the 3rd century, tradition makes Saint Honest the evangelizer of Pamplona. The church dedicated to him sits atop a charming pedestrian square in the heart of Yerres, where the existence of the parish is attested as early as the 11th century. The oldest part of the present building is the choir which dates from the 13th century. But it is only in 1526 that the relics of Saint Honest arrived there. The chapels and the bell tower were built in the 17th century by Jean Thiriot, architect to Louis XIII. The church was modified in the 19th century.
