Atol is a cooperative chain of opticians. It is now the 4th largest optical distribution company in France.
History. Founded in 1970, Atol (the Association of Optical and Eyewear Technicians) is managed as a cooperative group. It bases its development on its 100% cooperative structure, controlled by professional opticians, and led by competent professionals, focused above all on product quality, the training of its professionals, and an involvement in the field for visual health.
In 2004, Atol decided to relocate by relocating its private eyewear collection to the Jura region and is a pioneer in this movement. The company has been committed to French manufacturing for more than ten years. In 2011, it became the first optical brand to obtain the Origine France Garantie label for its Nu d'Atol collection. In 2012, it confirmed its eco-responsible commitment by obtaining ISO 14001 certification, the only one of an environmental nature. In 2015, it took the turn of innovation by marketing connected glasses - Teou -, 100% manufactured in France, a world first.
