1930S MUSEUM
The most important museum in the world, presenting unique collections of the wealth of the 30s, with the history of the city
All the art of the 1930s, the Roaring Twenties, the Art Deco years... A sometimes uneven ensemble (minor works or heterogeneous objects rub shoulders with true masterpieces of the period), divided into major categories: Ecole de Paris, Orientalism, Art and Industry... We linger over the artistic testimonies inherited from the colonial past, or stand in awe of certain interior decoration models, amused by Tamara de Lempicka's painting of her husband (in the midst of a divorce, she deliberately left it unfinished)... Don't miss Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann's fantastic "meuble au char" (1922), which is the envy of the world. But that's not all - the museum covers an area of 3,000 m². If you have the chance, linger in the drawing room. One by one, the drawers in which they are displayed are pulled out. What wonders! The small, colorful stencil illustrations and engravings of the period are jewels in their own right. Last but not least, the museum has a documentation center, and can be privatized for your events.
