House presenting today the reconstitution of a romantic interior of the century.
The house of Chateaubriand was opened to the public in 1987. This house was the writer's home from 1807 to 1818. He wrote the first chapters of the "Memoirs from beyond the grave". It became the property of Dr. Le Savoureux, an alienist doctor at the beginning of the 20th century, and was transformed into a rest home. Acquired by the Hauts-de-Seine department in 1967, the house presents today the reconstitution of a romantic 19th century interior in which one is led to identify the personality of Chateaubriand. Temporary exhibitions and conferences have been held here.
