STADE DÉPARTEMENTAL YVES DU MANOIR
It is one of the most mythical stages of France. The Race Club in France became a tenant in 1920. This stadium with dimensions unmatched for the time (60 000 standing places) takes the name of famous rugby Yves du Manoir in 1929. Doves stadium has hosted many events such as the finals of the 1938 World Cup and many final French Cup finals. The enclosure proved to be totally obsolete from the 1980 s. Three quarters of the galleries were razed, only the main gallery, with some 7 000 seats. Today, the team of Rugby Racing 92 team is evolving. Acquired by the department of Hauts-de-Seine, the site is promised a radical modernisation. The project launched in 2006 plans to develop, on a surface of 24 hectares along the A 86, a sports park comprising a new stage of honour of 20 000 places with a three-star hotel, a secondary stage of 1 500 places, seven training courses, a leisure and shopping centre orientated towards sport and leisure. However, the project does not advance. Last episode: to direct the activities of the stadium more towards handball, which cruelly lacks equipment being specifically dedicated to it in France. New case to follow…
