OLD TOWN HALL
Former City Hall, listed as a historical monument, used for exhibitions, meetings and weddings
In 1852, the town council decided to build a new town hall. The work was supervised by architect Paul-Eugène Lequeux, a pupil of Baltard. The marriage hall on the second floor is decorated with frescoes by Alexis Séon, a pupil of Puvis de Chavannes. The frescoes depict the Four Seasons and allegories such as Jour de Fête, Le Repos, Le Travail and La Mère. In the 1980s, the building was refurbished to host exhibitions, meetings and weddings, which is why newlyweds flock here to get married!
