PAUL LEAUTAUD'S HOUSE
The writer Paul Léautaud (1872-1956) lived in Fontenay-aux-Roses, in this small pavilion with a large garden populated by more than twenty dogs and as many cats, monkeys, a geese… However, he continued to work in Paris as a drafting secretary to the Mercure de France. He went out in the morning and returned to feed his animals, before he came out to attend the plays he was critical of. In Fontenay, he spent a long time for a little crazy guy. Radio interviews in 1952 revealed this to the public and suddenly to the Fontenaisians. Léautaud is the author of essentially autobiographical, sarcastic, cynicist narratives. Even today, a few nostalgic nostalgic nostalgics are discreetly passing in front of his house.
