TOBACCO FACTORY
Formerly located in the Grand-Caillou district, in the 7 th arrondissement of Paris, tobacco manufacture was moved to Issy in 1900. Built according to plans designed under the Second Empire by engineer Eugene Rolland and built between 1900 and 1904, the buildings are organized around a large brick fireplace. They had workshops with steam machines, as well as offices. From a production of cigars, the manufacture gradually turned to the manufacture of cigarettes. In 1978 it closed its doors and from 1986 it was converted into housing, offices and shops, after being registered in Historical monuments in 1984. Since visits are irregular, the tourist office is an obligation!
