HOUSE OF HENRI MATISSE
On General-de-Gaulle avenue, behind a metal portal, the second Empire is surrounded by a garden. It was at this place that the painter Henri Matisse (1869-1954), a great friend and rival of Picasso, leader of the Fauvism, whose paintings are as famous as the portrait of Auguste Pellerin, 7 the Joy of Living or the Sadness of the King. From 1909, Matisse wishing to move closer to nature, left his Parisian home to settle in Issy with his wife and children. On the ground, he makes a workshop, where he will perform some of his masterpieces as "La Musique" and "La Danse". He lived in this house until 1917, when he was leaving in the south of France.
