OBSERVATORY OF MEUDON
Observatory specialized in astrophysics, installed in a remarkable setting in Meudon, to discover.
It was after the Revolution that it was decided to dedicate the building to scientific research. In 1877, the ruins were given to the astronomer Jules Janssen who turned it into an observatory. He decided to build a large revolving dome to install a large telescope dating from 1863. Today, the Meudon observatory is specialized in astrophysics. From up there, the view is breathtaking. For sportsmen, a jog up from the Seine below to the top is a good (and sometimes very hard) exercise!
