The castle of Neuilly was built in the mid th century according to Jean-Sylvain Cartaud's plans. His owner is then the Duke of Argenson, who received at home Voltaire, Rousseau and Diderot. The residence is then occupied by Talleyrand and then by Murat, who will add the left wing at the beginning of the th century by the architect Pierre-François Fontaine. Then it was Napoleon's sister, Pauline Borghese, that the castle will be a few years later. From 1818, the property returned to the family of Orléans and King Louis-Philippe will make it his summer residence. In 1848, the castle was looted and burned down. Under Napoleon III, the places become a public park, and then an incubator. In 1907, the right wing, the so-called'Madame Adélaïde ', was acquired by the congregation of the Sisters of St. Thomas de Villeneuve, who settled there definitively after work by the architect Maurice Humbert.
