THE GREAT ARK OF DEFENSE PUTEAUX
The Grande Arche de la Frères, more known as the Grande Arche de la Défense, was built from 1983. It was inaugurated in 1989, at the double opportunity of the Revolution and the G 7 Summit. This cube balsa in its medium, 110,9 metres high, 112 metres long and 106,6 metres wide, is not really in the historical axis of Paris, with which it forms an angle at 6,33 °. From a practical point of view, Erik Reitzel, a Danish engineer engineer, had to install the foundations of the Ark structure in such a way that the motorway and the existing railway lines are respected, as well as the extension company on line 1 of the Paris metro. From a symbolic point of view, the Danish architect Johann Otto von Ordered created this angle of 6 ° 33 in order to highlight the volume of the Grande Arche and to restore the existing gap between the Square Court of the Louvre and the place de la Concorde. To access its terrace, which offers an extraordinary panoramic view of Paris and its surroundings, you can enjoy an impressive translucent elevator! It also includes the computer museum, which has more than two hundred coins in the past not so distant. The interest of the collection will, of course, increase as time goes by, but the younger ones will be surprised to discover the first computers or the beginnings of the Internet.
