CINÉ-SEL À SÈVRES
Formerly open market of the city, the Salt Building, was built in the th century by the architect Ancillon, already creator of the markets of Courbevoie, Bois-Doves and Vésinet. The metal frame echoes Ballard's pavilions for Les Halles de Paris. Organized around a central nave 10 metres long, and 9,5 metres high, as well as two side naves over 5 metres, the structure, from the 1960 s, houses the municipal workshops, a ballroom and an exposure room in the basement, the market having been moved. Major renovations are being undertaken in the 1980 s, and municipal workshops exported elsewhere. The showroom is held today in the basement, and on the top of Salt, raised room. Cultural events are taking place on a regular basis, now an important centre of artistic dynamics and conferences in Sèvres. Theatre, a classified cinema of Art and Trial, and dance room also find their rise on the bottom floor.
