COMMUNAL VINES OF SURESNES
Vineyard of the largest wine estate in Ile-de-France in Suresnes, planted with Chardonnay and producing 5,000 bottles of dry white wine
In the 1691 census, Suresnes had 74 winegrowers for 20 ha of vines and 30 bourgeois for 40 ha. The modern urbanization had reason of this vineyard. To save this heritage, the mayor Henri Sellier, created a municipal parcel, between the two world wars. On 1 ha, the largest wine estate in Ile-de-France, planted with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Sauvignon, produces 5,000 bottles of dry white wine. A beautiful harvest festival takes place in the Cité-Jardin district!
