Paris is ideal for going out: strolling in the streets on foot, by bike, on rollerblades, sitting on the terrace of a café, having a drink, moving at night, listening to music, going to the show, cluttering up nicely... During the holiday season, the hectic pace of cultural or festive programming continues unabated. Quite the contrary... Follow the guide!
Paris, city of culture
The French capital is known worldwide as a capital of culture. So don't hesitate to consult the plays that are being performed, you will necessarily find your happiness! To buy 50% of the day's theatre tickets, there is only one place: the Theatre Kiosk. Three points of sale are open every day from 12:30 to 18:00, Place de la Madeleine (8th arrondissement), on the esplanade of the Montparnasse tower (15th) and on the median strip of the Place des Ternes (17th). You must add 3 € per place for the reservation fees. Very often, when a play starts, the tickets are also sold at 50% by the theatre. The list appears in Pariscope or L'Officiel des spectacles, two small weeklies that list all Parisian shows and offer a selection of places to go out and enjoy leisure activities. Some sites also offer discounts: www.TickeTac.com - www.billetreduc.com - www.coupdetheatre.fr - www.coupdetheatre.fr, etc. Finally, Paris is also home to a growing number of festivals that attract all kinds of audiences and all ages (Rock en Seine, Solidays, We love green, etc.)
At night, Paris wakes up
Paris has been accused of falling asleep slowly, especially against its two major competitors, London and Berlin. Faced with the crisis, the night set off again in Paris. The modes follow one another at a pace that is often difficult to follow. After-work from 7pm to 9pm is very popular with executives who relax before going home or with students. But the big news is that they are often animated. Mojitos and other cocktails sometimes take control. Customers can also arrive with or without their musical instrument for an ox or sing a song (beware of the karaoke nerd). And for a hotter after-party we learn to dance to the sensual Bachata. In summer we have dinner with friends before going for a drink on a roof-top and then dancing under the stars. In winter, we hang out for drinks until 2am in bars and cocktail cellars and end up on a dancefloor or a dance-food where we taste as much as we dance.
We also privatize a lot in the Capital to stay between ourselves (bar, restaurant, club, terrace). A privilege offered free of charge by the sites Les Barrés or Privateaser. They list for you all the places that can be privatized, all you have to do is choose... To impress your friends, you can also privatize buses as well equipped as a nightclub (www.soireebus.com). And then we also privatize his apartment to organize parties between individuals and thus make new encounters (www.excusemyparty.com). Social networks are very active and underground parties are organized in ephemeral places, especially in summer.
Most bars close at 2am and nightclubs at 5am. Those who are still fresh to continue the fiesta end the night in the morning afternoons: Le Rexy (1st arrondissement), Chez Carmen (2nd), Le Babylone (5th), Le Pigallion and the Pigalle Country Club (9th), Le Zorba (10th), La Concrète (12th). And then there's also the end of the night at the friends' house. There's nothing like the apartment plan to remake the world and wait to see things more clearly.
The right bank, the bank of the festival
The right bank - with the exception of Saint-Germain and the Quartier Latin, which are still as festive as ever in a student vein - concentrates the nightlife, whether in business and tourist areas (1st arrondissement, 8th, 17th and 18th arrondissements) or in the more bumpy and trendy ones (3rd, 4th, 9th, 11th, 10th and 20th arrondissements). Nevertheless, we notice that grandfather coffees are coming back in force in the "gill" hit, especially among the 30-year-olds. The old neighbourhood bistro would tend to dethrone the less warm and more expensive lounge bar. Underground or rock music is mostly played in the East in the 10th arrondissement, the 11th and the 20th, although the 18th and 9th have been coming back in force recently.
The Champs-Élysées are full of sophisticated boxes. Le Marais (3rd arrondissement and 4th arrondissement) is the gayest place in the capital, but gay friends are still accepted in these bars with their often crazy decor.
On the other hand, the 11th arrondissement is undoubtedly the place where people celebrate until the end of the night, in bars, restaurants and clubs frequented by a totally disparate "fauna", day and night. He is followed by the 10th arrondissement, the 20th and the Batignolles.
What about the left bank?
The 13th arrondissement becomes "the place to be". La Butte-aux-Cailles has kept its village spirit. We come to spend the evening with friends in small nostalgic bars. On the other hand, it pitches quite a bit, especially in summer, towards the banks of the Seine. The barges of the Petit Bain, the Dame de Canton or the Batofar have been electrifying Parisian nights for years. They have attracted terraces-bars-restaurants where it is nice to have a drink or even eat on deckchairs that some establishments have on the platforms. The Port de la Gare then takes on the air of a seaside resort and becomes a popular meeting place where picnics and aperitifs are organised. Les Nuits Fauves, located under the Cité de la mode et du design, has absorbed Wanderlust and Nüba to become the largest club in Paris.
The timeless
Among the most popular clubs, small new ones or older ones but all essential: Underclub (4th arrondissement), Le Faust (7th), Le Zig Zag Club, Le Queen and Le Raspoutine (8th), Le Monseigneur (9th), Le Badaboum (11th), Nuits Fauves (13th), Virgo (15th) or le Yoyo (16th), L'Ice Kube Bar (19th) without forgetting the legendary Chez Castel (6th) which has been completely revamped and the Baths (3rd).
The night also includes its timeless: the show cabarets where you can either dine, have a glass of champagne or a drink. Among the best known and most frequented: Le Lido (8th arrondissement), Le Crazy Horse (8th), Le Paradis Latin (9th), Le Moulin-Rouge or Chez Michou (18th).
Finally, the most romantic will offer their beauties dinner cruises on the Seine aboard fully glazed boats to fully enjoy the city of light.
The Sexy Paris
As for sexy Paris, if some people are satisfied with sex shops - rue Saint-Denis (1st arrondissement) or rue de la Gaîté (14th arrondissement) -, others want to go to free clubs - Les Chandelles (1st arrondissement), Le Mask (2nd), Le Taken (4th), Le 2plus2 (14th) -, or to buy a hot striptease: The Guy's Club (6th) and Pink Paradise or The Penthouse Club (8th).
