JOHN WENG
Address in Paris preparing an Asian cuisine, a menu of nachos, wonton, nems sticks, bo bun and burgers.
John Weng, it is the alliance well-proportioned between neighborhood bistro and revisited Asian cuisine. The place, bright with its large bay windows, friendly with its high wooden tables, fits the concept with its lanterns and its old Chinese advertising posters upstairs. The concise menu has a wide panasiatic range: wonton nachos (Chinese raviolis chips, guacamole and coriander), sticks spring rolls (long and thin spring rolls with shrimps or vegetables). That it is for the appetizer. Some bo bun can follow but we preferred the Angus qui pleure (beef flank steak marinated, grilled and sliced thinly with Asian rice and coleslaw) and the sashimi burger, sweet fries (salmon confit, guacamole, cucumber, wasabi cream, squid ink bun). It is not only original but it is perfectly balanced in flavours. The desserts are appropriate to the dishes: profiteroles with green tea, white chocolate and black sesame or litchi tiramisu and rose water.
