Perfect restaurant for a lunch with friends or a gourmet afterwork in Paris.
Belgian chef Wim Van Gorp struck again in the 17th arrondissement! And so much the better. This former disciple of Ducasse, boosted by the success of his restaurant Comme Chez Maman, has just opened this brand new establishment which bears his first name and both are on the same street.
While Comme chez Maman is a restaurant with a rather classic gastro style, Wim's second opus is more relaxed and convivial, perfect for a lunch with friends or a gourmet afterwork. Because, be careful, we're talking about bar gastronomy here, so we enjoy real dishes in small portions prepared by a real chef who changes the menu according to the seasons and his desires. During our visit, the vegetable soup was tasty and the scallop cake really well prepared. But we would have been tempted by the duck brochette, herring roe, orange condiment or beef sashimi, green pepper? The room is very small, with just a few tables, but bright with a nice retro bar in the background. The decoration is very urban and uncluttered, while leaving the beautiful part to a magnificent fresco by comic book author Joann Sfar since this colourful work occupies an entire wall. It would be a friend of the boss and he is a fan of the address, hence his nice gift... So it's hard not to be seduced by this new opus by Wim, who is definitely a past master in the art of good taste.

Petite salle donc assez bruyant.
