HÔTEL WHISTLER * * * *
4 star hotel with a name evoking the trains that whistled on arrival, offering rooms with numbers as in cabins.
Paris-Liège, a 2-star, was transformed into a 4-star and even changed its name: Whistler Hotel, in French Hotel Sifflet… just to mention the trains that once whistled when arriving at the station. And the journey into legend trains is present on all floors: Antique leather suitcases decorate the built-in lobby like a wagon, rails filmed from the front of a train marching on the wall… The staff is also dressed as in luxury trains. In the breakfast room, benches and brass lamps remind you of the old-fashioned car cars. On the wall a true plate of the Sleeping Car Company and the ceiling an electric train that rotates. Travelers also have a table showing train schedules from Gare du Nord. The journey goes on in the elevator where a photo of loco is shown and then in the rooms. All floors have a different destination with each color (mordoré, green, brick…): Budapest, Berlin, Vienna, etc. Plates, such as those of train cabins, indicate room numbers. Inside a serene atmosphere and always in the idea of mythical voyage, closets are furniture-malles realized only for this hotel, bed heads are capitalized, the telephone is in black bakelite style style 1950, as well as the bathrooms decorated with white underground tiles.
